 2 1/8" high x 1 1/4" wide x 1 3/8" deep

18th or 19th century ivory netsuke depicting a foreigner being hugged by a small child.  Figure carries a club, and is dressed in elaborate clothing, with typical exaggerated features and long curling hair.  Dark staining in line work.

Two ( himotochi ) holes in back.  

Unsigned.

Excellent Condition.  

Mellow patina. Nice wear patterns from use.
