Mask of a King collected circa 1975 Mask of a kingly figure reminiscent of Neptune or Poseidon. Detailed beard, mustache, and complex crown / headdress. Crown is decorated with two fish-like dragons, dangling tassels, and a central dog-like mask with elongated ears. Beautiful rich red hardwood with nice age patina. Very fine carving. Glass eyes on face and on fish dragons. Origin Unknown – Possibly China or Southeast Asia.
Typical wear from age and display. Tassel on left side is cracked and repaired with pitch or some similar dark substance. Small chip on left side of right eye. SOLD
