Bob Boomer

Bob Boomer is one of a small number of "Old Guard Manzanita Carvers" working in the Yosemite Foothills.  Bob hails from a long line of woodworkers and fine cabinetmakers. His love for wood sprouted early, carving figures at age twelve.  He specializes in Native American subjects rendered in manzanita and weathered cedar burls collected near his home.  Bob sculpts with the natural wood formations, inspired by their natural forms. 

Bob has been working as a professional sculptor for the last thirty years.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Technology from Fresno State University and worked for many years as a teacher in the Yosemite area.
