Amy Morgan

Amy Morgan's work ranges from painted and carved pottery to whimsical jars and sculptural ceramics. She responds to her surroundings of orchards and animals to find her imagery and often peeks in travel books at more exotic plants and insects for ideas.  Amy is a member of the San Joaquin Clay Association. She has exhibited regionally and nationally for the past fifteen years.

Morgan began her work with ceramics at Carleton College in Minnesota.  She spent the next few years studying clay under Ron Myers and Andy Nasisse at the University of Georgia.  A move to San Diego in 1991 led Amy to the graduate program at San Diego State University where she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in 1995.  There she discovered the challenge of teaching and spent three years at Poway High School wrangling students and their clay masterpieces! She then settled into three years of college teaching first at SDSU, Southwestern College, and most recently at Fresno City College.
