The painting is in fair condition, and needs restoration.  There is a moderate amount of cracking on the surface, and some discoloration here and there along the edges of the clouds from the color of the canvas darkening over time. 

The painting depicts a mountain landscape, probably the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains of California.  Color is very nice, with the scene set at sunrise or sunset with a wonderful alpine glow over the distant peaks.
