Patrick
Lacey paints in oil and is recognized for taking on big subjects, like
Yosemite and the Grand Canyon, in a small scale. "Little
jewels" as he calls them.
Born
and raised in Coalinga, Patrick now reside in Fresno. His
interest in art first developed while watching Saturday morning
painting shows on Valley Public Television. After taking art
classes at adult schools in Fresno and Clovis, Patrick attended
workshops by Kevin Macpherson, Jean LeGassick and other distinguished
members of the Plein Air Painters of America.
Patrick
paints plein air regularly with watercolorist Patricia
Allen. The artists met in 2006 while rafting and painting a 220
mile stretch of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.
They are dedicated plein air painters and frequent the
upper reaches of Yosemite and the High Sierra.
