Very nice hand woven winnowing / collecting basket. A beautiful, large example of the form.

Excellent Condition. Very clean. One area on shoulder with a few missing stitches, visible in photos. Truly Lovely!  A practical basket made for daily use, with very little wear. Displays very well.

Winnowing baskets of this type were used by many California tribal groups for collecting, sorting, and leeching acorns.  Our location just outside Yosemite National Park in Central California results in some excellent examples coming to our attention from time to time.
