Yosemite Western Artists - Activities
YWA offers a variety of outings, guest speakers, and other activities throughout the year. Members interested in suggesting or planning activities please contact De Sheldon at 559-658-5980 All arts are welcome including painting, photography, woodcarving, ceramics, jewelry, etc.
Painting from Life at Gertrude School
Meets at Gertrude School every Friday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 pm.
For those that have not been out to our painting sessions, we meet at the "Historic Gertrude Schoolhouse" on Road 600 (Raymond Road) 1/2 mile off of Hwy. 49 in Ahwahnee. You can sketch, draw, paint, or whatever. Bring your materials out and join us. Artists working in all media are welcome!
The
fee for the Friday Painting Group is $7.00 per artist (with a signup sheet) for
the three hour session.
Models are paid a flat payment of $50.00 and the balance (if any) is kept by YWA to
help pay models when there are not enough artists to cover the $50.00 fee.
Artists should expect to pay models extra if they want extra posing during breaks or after the regular session (for photos, etc.). Also, if you would like to compensate a model with a tip, it would be gratefully accepted.
Models are not always available so check with Doug ahead of time if you want to know. Artists working in all media are welcome. Contact Larry Potter if you have questions.
