Christian Guenther

Christian Guenther Firefall vaseChristian opening out on a large rainbow bowlChristian Guenther creates stunning hand blown art glass in a number of unique designs.  His work is colorful, sturdy, and confident in form.  His current work is freeform and organic, referencing rounded and flowing forms found in nature.  Although he produces a body of specific designs, each piece is unique, with the final form determined by the whim of the artist, and inevitable random elements of the glassblowing process. Christian has been an artist since his youth, utilized pencil & paper, photography, clay, stone, metal, and ultimately glass to convey his ideas and feelings about his relationship to the natural world, and to the world we create around us.  Christian considers his current work to be a series of signposts or markers of the most raw and basic elements of nature, markers intended to lead one's thoughts to what the artist sees as the basic building blocks of existence. Ultimately, a reassessment of how we interact with the cosmic miracle that surrounds us is the effect he strives to evoke.
