Nisar's “Rapid Expressionism” works are reminiscent of the works of Kandinsky, Klee, and Miro. They are active, colorful, and intuitive in execution. The images are full of energy and intriguing formal relationships. With these works Nisar has broken free of the graphic limitations of his Black Marker works, no longer "staying within the lines". Random color and indefinite forms splash across the canvas, and intermingle with abstract and iconic images. Later works from this period introduce elements of landscape, defining distinct regions of the canvas as earth, water, or sky with a simple horizon line. |
